More than an Island
Kapiti Island, located off New Zealand's Kapiti Coast, is a vital nature reserve and sanctuary for endangered species. It provides a predator-free haven for native birds like the kiwi, kaka, and takahe.
Rich in Māori history and ecological significance, the island represents conservation success and offers visitors unique wildlife experiences. Here a few pages from a book I created that explores the history of the island and where it is now.
